I worked in the coorporate world for 23 years before I took off on my soloship!

Today, I am a proud single mom to a teenage daughter who is about to spread her wings and fly off to university in the fall. Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday she was taking her first steps, and now she's ready to take on the world. Not only as a single parent, but as a mom in general, this transition brings a mix of emotions as many of you are most likely experiencing too! I get it, and I'm here to navigate it all with you.

Now, let's talk about my little fur family. I have three adorable companions who bring so much joy to my life - one goofy dog and two mischievous cats. They are my partners in crime, always keeping things lively and entertaining around the house. Some days it feels like Green Acres over here, no joke!

Life likes to throw curveball's at me - and that showed up in the form of my aging parents. As they can't afford assisted living facilities, I take it upon myself to keep them organized and ensure they receive the care they deserve. It can be challenging at times, but it's all about finding creative solutions and supporting our loved ones through thick and thin. Can anyone relate? Why is it that my generation (born at the end of the Boomer era, and raised with the GenXers) feels the need to look after our parents? All things considered? But maybe we'll talk about that whole thang too!

Now, let's rewind the clock 14 years ago when my entrepreneurial journey began. After unexpectedly losing my corporate job after 23 years of working for the "machine" I started my own cleaning business, and boy, did it lead me down unexpected paths! Cleaning homes may not sound glamorous, but it was a stepping stone that ignited my passion for entrepreneurship and laid the foundation for my online digital business- Got Grit? which in turn brought me to my blog; Chicktock.

Their footsteps have paved the way for my own entrepreneurial endeavors, and I carry their legacy with pride and gratitude.
